Families,

School District 120 is participating with the Illinois State Board of Education in the 2023 statewide survey of school climate and learning conditions. This is your chance to provide input concerning your child’s education. We value your opinions about the operations of Mundelein High School.

The Illinois 5Essentials Survey provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers and parents to have a voice in improving their schools. The surveys are available now through Friday, March 31. Please use the following link to complete the survey: 5 Essential Survey.

We will take all of your input seriously and use it to continually review and update our current educational practices. Results will never be connected to your child. No individual will be identified in the school reports and teachers and administrators will not see individual responses.

The survey is administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago and provides a comprehensive picture of a school’s organizational culture in an individualized report measuring the five essentials critical for school  success:

  • Effective Leaders

  • Collaborative teachers

  • Involved families

  • Supportive education

  • Ambitious instruction

The survey results will be sent to District 120 and will be included in the Illinois State School Report Card next fall.

Thanks, in advance, for taking part in this important survey.

In partnership,

Alexandria Rios Taylor

You DO NOT want to miss this event! For the first time ever, MHS students will be able to gain inside access to the college admissions process. During the Case Studies event, students and parents will meet in small groups with an experienced admissions officer who leads a discussion on what colleges look for in an applicant, as well as what every college values.

Students learn first-hand how they will be evaluated, which helps them begin thinking of the qualities and strengths they bring to the process and what they will need to do to prepare for the application process. This event is strongly recommended for MHS juniors who plan to apply to college.

Gymnastics Coaches Corner

The Varsity Girls Gymnastics team competed at Regionals on Thursday, February 2 at Lake Forest High School. The team took 2nd and narrowly missed the opportunity to continue on to Sectionals. While they won't be continuing on in the team competition, they did have several girls qualify as individuals. Congratulations to Lexie and Kate for qualifying for vault, bars, beam, floor, and all around; Isla for qualifying for beam and floor; and Rylee for qualifying for floor. Sectionals will take place at Stevenson on Wednesday, February 8. Good luck to all the girls that qualified!

Lexie Ede is going to state on bars with a 4th place finish tonight. We wait for tomorrow to see if we make it in anymore events with at large scores.

Girls Bowling Coaches Corner
