Parents/Guardians encouraged to complete 5Essentials Survey
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to complete the 5Essentials Survey that is now available online. The survey allows for school administrations to learn about the highlights and concerns of parents in their districts. The survey is available in English and Spanish and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Only one parent per household may complete the survey; however, if parents have more than one child who attends MHS, they may choose to participate multiple times.

  • living by the motto "winners never quit...quitters never win"
  • Not being satisfied with just doing a job but constantly trying to do the job better

Scholarships Are Open!
The Patrick Zepeda Athlete in Service Award, worth $1,500, is available to a first generation (neither parent has received a bachelor’s degree in the US) Mundelein High School graduating senior who has been active in athletics and has impacted their home or community through service.

Patrick Zepeda was the father of former, current, and future Mustang Athletes. Patrick could often be seen cheering for his children on the football field, softball field, and basketball or volleyball court.  He was known for always offering a helping hand and as a lifelong sports lover; he came to adopt the Mustangs as “his team.”  This scholarship honors his legacy of service and athleticism.

The application for this scholarship includes an essay, cover sheet, and coach’s recommendation that must be returned to the CCRC by 12pm on Thursday, January 31, 2019.  The application can be found at the link at the end of this email (scroll to the very bottom), or by logging in to your Naviance account.

This scholarship, and many more scholarship opportunities, can also be accessed through the Scholarship Link found under Colleges Home in Naviance.  Additionally, we strongly encourage students to continue checking the MHS Specific Scholarships document to view which additional scholarships that are guaranteed to go to MHS graduates may be opening soon and begin preparing for these.
