Recognition

Veterans Day

Mundelein High School traditionally recognizes Veterans Day with an all school assembly and brunch for veterans living in the surrounding communities.  This event is considered one of the largest Veterans Day recognitions in the area as it typically has over 100 veterans in attendance.  Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions and concerns with large indoor events, we are unable to have the assembly and brunch this school year.  However, we will still recognize Veterans Day by displaying American flags around the perimeter of the school and dedicating time for our students to hear a prerecorded message from one of our distinguished alumni recipients on Veterans Day.  This year’s message will be given by Ms. Deirdre Healy, retired Lieutenant Colonel, USAF.

Girls Volleyball

Coaches Corner: George Dressen

The Girls Volleyball season has come to an end.  This week and next we will have our Award programs to honor the hard work and commitment these young ladies have made this season. We are grateful for the support the student body, staff and the Mundelein community showed toward each team.  Have a Healthy and Safe Holiday season!

Boys Cross Country

Coaches Corner: Kurt Rutz

The guys ran their last competition Saturday at the Sectional Meet on Saturday, October 30th, achieving a season-long goal.   Way to Go, Mustangs!  They followed this with the traditional running of the mile time trial on the track where nearly everyone had PRs (Personal Records). Next week we look forward to our traditional end-of-season banquet where achievements and efforts are celebrated.  And since distance runners are never idle, winter running will be starting up soon and anyone interested in preparing for the longer track distances (or for conditioning) is welcome to contact Coach Rutz for details.
