MHS hosts Innovation Fair along with “Pitch” Night May 7
Mundelein High School will host an Innovation Fair Monday, May 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by “Pitch Night” for Business Incubator students at 6:30 p.m. Both are free and open to the public. “Come see big ideas about little things like nanotechnology, global research, STEM inquiry and research projects [at the Innovation Fair],” said Rosangela Fiore, coordinator of the events.
The highly anticipated Business Incubator Pitch Night will start at 6:30 p.m. Business Incubator offers students an authentic entrepreneurship experience. In the year long course, students create and fully develop their own products or services with real entrepreneurs and business experts serving as volunteer coaches and mentors.  They help to guide the student teams through the processes of developing their business.

“Final Pitch Night is a high-octane event where INCubatoredu student teams present their final business concept before a panel of industry experts,” Fiore explained.  The board of advisors, made up of local business leaders, facilitate the event by asking each team a series of questions to determine if a business concept is worthy of investment.  Students have a chance to earn scholarships and also gain exposure for their business idea.  The winning group of students will then compete for funding dollars at the National INCubatoredu Student Pitch to be held this summer.
“As the final milestone of the year-long academic program, these inspiring events are open to the community and they celebrate student achievement,” Fiore concluded.

Dear Parents- In preparation for prom/graduation/summer, thank you for not providing alcohol / other drugs to teens for prom/graduation celebrations. You play a HUGE part in keeping our teens safe and healthy. Let's work together to get everyone home safely Monday morning and throughout the summer! Give teens an alcohol/drug-free place to hang out., monitor the space, and they will be less likely to use.

Please remind parents in your network about Mundelein Social Host Ordinance 9.80- it is illegal to provide alcohol/drugs to minors or a place for teens to drink/use. Since teens can't buy alcohol themselves, if they have alcohol- it means an adult 21 years old provided it or left it unattended. Let's do our part to prevent underage drinking.

Band Awards Night Concert to feature Wizard of Oz music
The annual Band Awards Night Concert will take place Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m. in the Mundelein High School Auditorium. Admission is free.

Year-end awards will be presented by instrumental music directors Jerald Shelato and Andrew Sturgeon.

Information about accessing SAT scores
Scores from the April 10 SAT testing will be available to students in their College Board account beginning on Thursday, May 3. If students cannot view their scores, they should call the College Board’s Student SAT helpline at 866-756-7346

If students have not already done so, they may create a College Board account by visiting this site.
This account allows students to access both SAT and Advanced Placement scores online and send them to colleges. Students also may use this account to view the questions and answers from their SAT test and see explanations of each question. In addition, students may link their results to Khan Academy to receive personalized practice based on their results.

Information to help interpret SAT scores also is available at this site.

Scores for some students will be released later than May 3 for reasons that include participation in the later accommodations testing window or on the makeup testing date, late receipt of answer sheets, missing information on the answer sheet, or other conditions that require additional attention.

Boys Gymnastics
By John Bumbales Daily Herald Correspondent
The first of five boys gymnastics sectional meets turned out to be a very good one Tuesday night at Mundelein, as two teams put themselves in a good position to reach the 67th state meet. As expected, the host Mustangs captured the championship of the eight-team meet with 155.95 points to automatically advance to the 22nd Elite Eight in program history on May 11 at Hoffman Estates. Runner-up Downers Grove North put itself in a pretty good position to earn one of the three at-large team berths to the Elite Eight meet with 151.45 points, while Willowbrook (144.95 points) took home third place behind all-around champion Adam Sousa with 54.7 points (9.12 average). The Mustangs' senior duo of Kurt Lawrence (53.9) in third, and Tyler Collins (52.5) in fifth paved the way to victory. Downers Grove North's great effort was led by senior all-arounder Lukas Elisha (53.3) in fourth overall. Sophomore Aaron Hepper placed sixth overall for the Trojans while Mundelein junior Will Ferro placed eighth. Collins was barely recognizable wearing contact lenses instead of his trademark glasses, but he may go back to his familiar look for the state meet. "I think I'm going to be going back to the goggles for state," said Collins, who recently scored 53.3 points at the Independent Conference meet. "We had some areas that were really good tonight, but we definitely have room to grow for state." Mundelein coach Jesse Piland was pleased with how his team responded to the pressure and expectations. "Not by any means was it our best meet, but it was a really solid team meet, and we just kept plugging away," said Piland. "We have a week and a half to get it all worked out. The guys responded really well to the home crowd and the home equipment, and they were excited." The top five placers in each event automatically advance to state along with the top three all-arounders. Ten at-large all-arounders, and 25 at-large individuals in each event, will also advance to state on May 11 at Hoffman Estates.

Morelli walked two, and 50 of the 88 pitches she threw were strikes.
Kaitlyn Griffin finished 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, and Elise Bernett and Kira Buckner both drove in 2 runs for Mundelein (10-9 overall). Bernett and Mia Arnoux had doubles.
