Theatre
Mundelein Theatre will kick off its new season with their Student Directed One Act Plays. This year there will be nine short plays presented, all directed by Mundelein High School seniors. The plays will be presented on Monday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium.  Admission is $5. The plays are intended for ages 13 years and older.

“We always start our season with the One Acts,” said Jonathan Meier, theatre director at MHS. “It is a really compelling night of theatre, with a wide variation of subject matter and styles within these plays.”

The plays average 12 minutes in length.  Roughly 50 MHS students are involved either onstage or backstage.  “Watching these seniors helm their own shows is always very gratifying,” Meier continued. “They have all worked very hard over their theatre careers, and this is their chance to show what they have learned and put their own stamp on their shows.”

The show titles are: After the Ball Drops, Frozen Fish Sticks, In the Meantime, Stay, Sorry, The Wedding Story, The West Wing, To Date or not to Date and Walls.
